20th July 08
19th July 08. The weather forecast was for rain so we decided to have another towny day and went to Abergavenny, quite a large town. The weather was reasonably kind with only one light shower when we were having lunch under cover. I managed to get a good internet connection in the car park to collect emails and load some more photos onto the blog.
18th July 08. Not a lot to report today, we went into Brecon for a wander around the shops and have a look at the castle. Strange there wasn't any entrance, just a hotel sort of grafted onto the front- I guess the castle is part of the hotel.
17th July 08. Having spent 9 days at home in Devon with Di doing a mountain of laundry and me getting the garden back into shape, cleaning the MH and getting Timmy castrated, we trundle off again to Aberbran near Brecon about 40 miles north of Cardiff in Wales. We stopped off in Newport to re-fuel as we were almost empty and had a 5p per litre money off voucher for Tesco. That set us back £100 and the tank wasn't full!
The club site is located in a sheltered, quiet spot on the site of a railway station. The line ran from neath to Brecon and was decomissioned in 1962. As expected it is long and narrow with very small pitches. We were allocated one which the MH and car only just fitted leaving us a small area to sit out- if the sun shines!
The rest of the day was spent setting up on yet another allegedly level pitch which required 3 levelling blocks and we still weren't level- there's got to be a better way of doing this. On the plus side, the shower drains well.
