We've stopped our travels for a while ready for Christmas having spent 118 days away during 2008. I must say it's quite nice to be home again in Devon!
As usual it’s been a hectic time trying to fit everything in before Christmas. Car-wise, we've sold the Honda Jazz and sold the Smart on eBay after we collected a new Toyota Aygo. That will solve the problem of Timmy jumping all over Di on route as we intend to have him strapped in a harness on the back seat. We then need to get a towing frame fitted to the front by a company in Poole ready for the next trips away, whenever that will be.
I got fed up with the small Asus notebook computer, sold it on Ebay, and bought a 9in screen Toshiba with a proper 120GB hard drive instead of the tiny solid state one on the Asus. It’s a superb bit of kit spoilt only by the gross stupidity of the designer putting grey lettering on the black keys instead of the normal white. That makes it virtually unusable in poor light. I solved the problem by buying some stick on letters and numbers, all of which needed trimming to fit the tiny keys. It now looks “a proper job”.

I suppose the rest of the time had been spent emptying and cleaning the motorhome ready for the swap. We decided to change it while it is relatively young having had a ridiculous offer of a trade in under the present climate. The new one is exactly the same layout as the previous but has lots of the internal snags ironed out such as a window in the shower room and generally a better build quality.
