After a very disturbed night of rain and high winds rocking the MH we set off in the rain for Garlieston about 40 miles to the opposite side of Luce Bay. Due to a petrol station being closed on our journey to New England Bay we were very low on fuel with the fuel computer showing a range of 60 miles- that's too close for comfort. I drove at 45mph to try to conserve diesel and we managed to make it to Newton Stewart for a top up.
The weather cleared up to a sunny day when we arrived on site. A prime spot on the harbour wall was vacant and soon had our MH installed on it. From the journey the car was covered in road grit thrown up from the MH despite having mudflaps.
It would appear that we will be having a high tide tonight at 1am with a possibility of flooding!
I’ll wait up to monitor it ready to reverse to higher ground if necessary. About 100 yards from the site is the local pub, certainly not a gin palace but serves good honest grub. Needless to say we had our evening meal there. Timmy had 2 dog biscuits while we had a superb meal for not a lot of dosh!
