OFF AGAIN- DESTINATION BROCKENHURST

We set off at just after 9am having demolished a mud flap backing out of our drive. Then we were further delayed by meeting a tractor and trailer on a narrow stretch of road and had to reverse a couple of hundred yards. All of that coupled with needing to stop again for fuel meant a quite late start.
The first half of the journey eastwards of just 140 miles was motorway but the second half was just ‘A’ roads and very slow resulting in our arrival on site at 1.30pm.

On route we saw signs to many places we recognised from many years ago when we used to collect Jo and Rich from North Cadbury- magical names like Burton Bradstock, Tolpuddle (remember the Tolpuddle martyrs) and of course Piddletrenthide, who could forget it!

Once on site we found only 5 grass pitches were available, some under trees, some very sloping and some just in the middle of the site. We picked what we thought was half decent but failed to level the MH, it was just too sloping. So we tried another which proved to be just as much of a problem, however the warden noticed our predicament and offered us a hard standing pitch for the next day.
I think Timmy remembered this site from last year as he seemed to know the way onto the heath outside the site and quickly found his way to the area where he chased rabbits last year!
The internet connection on Vodafone is very unreliable but just about useable.
