Today we packed lunch for a tour around the lump of land south east of Southampton. We mistakenly thought of stopping off at Beaulieu for a walk around the village but having passed it in the car, decided not to bother as it didn't look interesting. On then to Lepe Country Park on the coast overlooking the Isle of Wight where we strolled along the beach marvelling at the closeness of the IOW and the remains of wartime fortifications. Photo left shows the ferry and East end of the IOW.

After lunch we made our way to Hythe but unfortunately there weren't any large ships moored. Photo left shows the pier where we assume the ocean going liners moor.
