Perhaps a bit poetic but nevertheless it was extremely peaceful a very enjoyable walk around the marked paths. I remember coming here about 45 years ago and taking black & white photos- not a lot of use on a blue subject!
We sat outside the tea room enjoying a pot of tea for two. How terribly British (and proud of it).
It would appear that the pit was excavated by hand but no mention is made of the purpose which I guess was for china clay judging by other working excavations in the area.
