This is our first trip in the new motorhome, an Adria Coral, about a foot longer than our previous plus this one has twin fixed beds.
Destination Black Knowl Caravan Club site, an old favourite of ours and Timmy. It is in the New Forest near Brockenhurst, the nearest large city is Southampton on the south coast. This site is superb for dogs as it literally in the middle of a large area of open heath with walks just outside the site entrance. On the down side internet access is pretty useless with good signal strength but no access. I think it depends on network use age with this one getting many hits from mobile phones leaving no space for data connections. So I’m going to resort to updating the blog from supermarket car parks while Di does the shopping!
The remainder of our first day was spent setting up and the second day, Monday, trying to get a bathroom sink stopper in nearby towns of Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst as the water disappears due to a bad fitting stopper. We got one but that too failed to make a watertight fit. For some reason, as yet unknown, I tightened the securing screw in the centre of the outlet and the original stopper now seems to work fine! It’s a mystery.
The weather is fine and sunny most of the time, good for sitting out and enjoying an evening drink but our neighbour is deaf needing the TV blasting out. Subtle loud comments from us failed to make any impression so I asked them to turn it down resulting in the caravan door closing which somewhat reduced the racket to an acceptable level. It seems we have to either put up with deaf old sods out of season or noisy children in the school holidays! As they say “no peace for the wicked”.
