KESSINGLAND BEACH
This really puzzles me, what happened to the beach? The top photo was taken about 1960 and I took the lower one yesterday. Mine is not quite the same zoom ratio but you get the idea. In 1960 the sea came right up to the promenade but now there's a shingle bank some 200 yards before the sea and there's little sign of the groins, just a few stumps.
According to one of the locals, it happened quite quickly during the 80's with the sea depositing shingle and retreating! I searched the internet but couldn't find any mention of it.
This is our last day on the site, tomorrow we go west to Cirencester for a few days on route to home.

It's incredible and somewhat sad. However, your photo is beautiful - the B&W is gorgeous!
