So the weather has improved, or has it, see later! As per
our itinerary, we’re at Trewethett Farm Caravan Club site near Boscastle on the
North Cornwall coast. The journey from home is quite
short and easy, however there were a couple of problems. Di was unable to drive
the car to our coupling up point due to gout in her elbow and thumb and we lost
the right flashing indicator on the car about 4 miles from the site. We got
over the first problem by coupling up at the end of our road at home, towing
through the village and country lanes, not something I relish as there are
often large tractors towing even larger trailers! Fortunately we didn't meet
any.
Number two problem was solved as Di noticed a cable trailing
on the ground when we arrived. Three wires were worn through so I suppose we
were lucky only to have lost one flashing indicator! I repaired it later with a
gas soldering iron and insulating tape but it needs to be better secured.
Our first day was very pleasant with some sunshine, Timmy
even sat out while I did the wiring repair, but the night was vastly different
with gale force winds rocking the MH. Not a lot of sleep was had. This really
is a superb site, right on a cliff top looking west with spectacular sea views,
but when it blows by heck does it blow!
