COMMANDO MEMORIAL AT SPEAN BRIDGE
The Commando Memorial is in a stunning setting in the Great Glen, with Ben Nevis in the background. Apparently, the area was an important training ground for commandos & US Army Rangers during World War Two & the Memorial was erected in 1952 as a tribute to marines, past & present. There is also a Memorial Garden ( which we didn't photograph), beautifully set in a circle, with individual tributes, including photos of the fallen, some as recent as this year. Well worth visiting, but very poignant & moving.
