NORTH TO NEAR INVERNESS

Reluctantly, it was time to move on to Culloden near Inverness, about 85 miles north east.
The journey wasn't without incident, with a MAJOR panic on route. We left in a bit of a hurry, as someone else wanted to leave and we were blocking the road. I knew we needed diesel, so had my wallet with ALL bank cards, driving licence etc on my lap. We set off and at a suitable lay-by I stopped to check the towing frame before setting off again. Then thought OMG the bank cards were on my lap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No chance to turn around until Fort William some 7 miles away with the cards fallen out at the lay-by! We trundled on for 5 miles and stopped in another lay-by, with the idea of uncoupling the car and returning. Then Di spotted the cards lying on the dashboard. I must have picked them up off my lap as I got out. Such relief, but my ticker was doing about 200 per minute no need for the pacemaker! I'm still jumpy about it even now just thinking about the consequences.

The site is near Culloden Moor, site of the last pitched battle on mainland England in 1745 when the English killed about 2000 of the Jacobite rebels in an hour. Playing bagpipes and wearing the kilt was then banned in an effort to suppress the remaining Jacobites.

Sorry, yet another photo of Timmy!
