Yes, Di has finally convinced me to sell our bungalow after 27 years of occupation! Well, did we ever really occupy it having 12 years of caravans and 15 years of motorhomes. Every year we spent most of the spring summer and autumn touring the UK. We now realize that our lives have changed from when we first bought the bungalow, we used to go for walks and enjoy the local beaches. Now Di is unable to walk more than 100 yards on the flat and I'm reluctant to go to any remote places having been diagnosed with heart failure.
Having spent 3 years with a static caravan in Grassington and 18 months with the lodge in Stourport on Severn we realize we have outgrown Kingston and are quite happy in this area with a doctor, supermarkets and DIY stores nearby. In truth, we really don't need a house!
Imagine how nice it would be not to have to pay for gas, electric, council tax, water rates and general maintenance like gardening and decorating! So why not spend the proceeds of the sale rather than let the government have a share of it when we pop our clogs.
Just a thought, at the moment it feel like we're on holiday- it was like that when we first moved to Kingston. Would we get to loose the holiday feeling at the lodge in few years time also? Perhaps we need something small and cheap so that it makes our lodge feel like a holiday each time we return!
Well, those were the thoughts way back in March 2025! Subsequently, we looked for a bungalow in an area stretching from Hereford to the Welsh border near Shrewsbury We would have liked to make an offer on a few bungalows but without a sale on Kingston no estate agents would consider an offer. One day it must sell as we keep reducing the price!
