On our return to Devon I managed to wash the front of the bungalow to remove the green mould which had accumulated over the winter and paint the chimney. I'm hoping to paint the rest before the end of the year!
I spent a few enjoyable hours in the garage working on my small lathe making parts for an aerial coil for amateur radio.
For a while I've been thinking about a really small laptop computer to take away with us in the motorhome. Finally I bought the Azus EEE which is about the size of a paperback book, really small but has all the applications I need ready built in. The only real drawback is the Linux operating system which is an alternative to Microsoft Windows. Installing new programs and backups is not easy as you need considerable knowledge of the Linux language. I'm learning! The EEE is very neat with a built in web cam and wireless adapter for internet access. It would appear to be expensive to connect to remote WiFi points costing 15p per minute with a minimum spend of £5. I suppose we have to get used to this cost together with petrol now costing £5 a gallon. (that's about $9 per gallon)
