STARTING THE NEW SEASON OF MOTORHOMING

Wednesday 24th. After lunch we headed towards Broadway and took the "Blossom Trail". It headed around Evesham, we know not where but there was little blossom to be seen. Were we too early or too late? Either way we eventually stopped to attach the sat-nav to direct us to the supermarket in Evesham for groceries.

Tuesday 24th. Today was marketing day- no, not trendy selling but going to an open market in Morton in Marsh. It was a bitterly cold day, fine and dry. Di bought some odds and ends- all essentials naturally! We had lunch in a sunny courtyard at the rear of a cafe- ok for dogs.

Monday 23rd. We went to Burford Oxfordshire. The weather was a lot colder than previous days, back to fleece jackets and gloves (at least for me!)
We had lunch in the car park bordering a stream with loads of ducks swimming around and waddling around the paths, much to Tim’s delight. At first he was unsure but their movement soon prompted him to try to give chase! Sadly (for him) only as far as his lead would allow. We then had a fling to Aston where we used to live 11 years ago. The house has a new posh garage door and a panel van conversion motorhome on the drive. The cherry tree in the front garden looks twice the size since we left.

Saturday. We spent the day at Batsford Arboretum, a splendid setting in the grounds of a mansion house. The trails were mostly flat and dry and the weather so warm that even I didn’t need a coat! Having spent 3 hours wandering and taking photos we had lunch back at the car followed by hot drinks at the adjacent garden centre cafĂ© terrace, still in brilliant sunshine. To complete the day we had a wander around Morton in Marsh.

Friday 20th. Spent much of the day getting organised then went to Broadway. Photos show the main street.

Thursday- the day we arrived. At last the weather has stared to improve ready for our first trip away in the new MH towing the Aygo for the first time. We headed for Broadway about 160 miles from home. The site is on a former railway station with the goods yard building being now used for an amenities block.

It’s a bit noisier than we would like as the site is between two roads, nevertheless it’s reasonably quiet at night. The dogwalk is tiny with the usual ban on exercising dogs on site. However we have to walk on site to get to the dogwalk, sometimes (often) by a meandering route!
