Tues. High winds and rain were forecast for last night, they weren’t wrong! The MH rocked all night plus the noise from rain and hail on the roof made it impossible to sleep. I thought we were in a sheltered spot but the westerly manages to find a way up the valley. Hopefully, during the day it will veer to the predicted southerly then we will get some shelter.
After lunch we went to Newquay for a ramble around the shops. It hasn’t changed much since our last visit some 5 years ago, still many smoking youths either walking the streets or driving with loud music. Now the walkers have taken to parading with aggressive looking dogs like Staffordshire bull terriers or something much larger, possibly some sort of Pit Bull cross breed. We kept Tim well away!

Wed. A short drive along the coast took us to Holywell Bay, a magnificent stretch of sand accessed by sand dunes where we were blasted by sand driven by the wind. Tim had a good run off his lead and seems to be much better at returning to us when called. We then went on to Crantock beach similarly accessed over dunes but we took a path to the right which lead to a river inlet, again very sandy for Tim to run free. The wind seems to be dropping a little but it is still bitterly cold.

Thurs. Finds us in Truro with an Internet connection to top up the blog! It started as a sunny day but by 4pm the rain descended again, hence I'm sitting in the car while Di finishes off the shopping. One thing continues to puzzle me about youth today is just how they can dress in short sleeved T shirts and walk the streets as if it is a Summer's day. I'm cold in a shirt sweater and fleece jacket!
