Reluctantly we left the site and headed for home in South Devon. About 5 miles from home we encountered the dreaded "road closed- diversion sign" and knowing all other roads into the village are too small to be safe for the MH, I ignored the sign and squeezed through the traffic cones!
It was a bit of a rough ride over a de-surfaced section but on the plus side there wasn't any traffic until we approached a surprised traffic controller working near the tarmac laying machine. He let us through on the wrong side of the road while diverting the other traffic.
It turned out to be a very good move, as subsequently talking to the neighbours, they had horrendous journeys through the diversion route with oncoming lorries on the single track roads.
Di's ankle swelling has gone back to normal but her toe nail has become infected and almost detached. The Doc reckons it will detach naturally and re-grow but antibiotics are needed with the infection.
Not a lot else to report- I've cleaned and polished the MH but seemed to have been doing jobs all week! Roll on Saturday for another trip, this time to Buxton in the Peak District.
