STILL AT BROCKENHURST

Once again I’m catching up on the blog by recalling our holiday from home after the event. It was hot, too hot, so hot we did nothing other than try to keep cool under the roll-out sun shade. We always seem to park with the sunshade facing south. Consequently, the sun creeps under the shade during the day and by late afternoon there’s no shade to be had!
Solution, sit on the opposite side of the MH or buy a ‘blocker’. The latter being the preferred option as the door is on that side.
So where did we visit, well not many places as it was a) too hot and b) Di’s feet were not up to much walking.

We did however go to Burley on 17th where I bought a new leather ‘bum’ bag. I understand these are called ‘fanny bags’ in the US but that has a completely different meaning in the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I managed to actually get photo without any cars, now that’s a first.

I spent quite a lot of time on amateur radio talking to my pal, Dave,
who was holidaying in Zakynthos (Greek Islands). We were both surprised how good the communication quality was, considering we were both using portable aerial systems. In 'ham' speak it was 59 both ways.

We met some fellow motorhomers, Richard and Di, who had a Border Terrier called Alfie, a good friend for Timmy and us doing a lot of chatting about motor homes!

Timmy loves going to Ober Corner, where you can get to the river in a relatively shallow location, good for dogs swimming and chasing stones. He really loves chasing stones but never brings any back! It was so hot that he was almost dry by the time we walked back to the MH, usually stopping on route for a chat with our new friends.

Meanwhile, back at the MH it's time for squirrel watch for Timmy, dashing from window to window to get a better view and then a good snooze. Normally I hate photos of animals dressed in human clothes but this one with my Tilley hat wasn't posed, he just flopped into it!
