GLOUCESTER FOR ONE DAY

A really early start today, to be on the road by 6am for an appointment in Gloucester at 8.30am to have the new car modified ready for towing.
I watched sunrise over the Mendip hills at about 7am and the satnav seemed to show I would be early for the appointment - BUT,  in a few miles came the inevitable road works - 50mph speed limit, now that would have been good compared to stop start crawling! The time ticked away and the traffic cleared as the arrival time approached. I made it just in time,  but the garage took a bit of finding on the old airfield site at Moreton Valence.
Absolutely nothing to do at the destination while waiting 7 hours for the job to be done, so I elected to be taken to the local'ish Park and Ride. That dumped me in the centre of Gloucester to wander aimlessly for the day. Now,  if you were female that would be no problem - shop till you drop! For a guy,  this is no good  wandering around a city centre without even  Maplin Electronics!
So here I am drinking coffee in Starbucks on their free wifi.
Off now for more wanderings and perhaps a meandering or two!

This is where I had a picnic lunch overlooking the narrow boats moored for the winter, or maybe they just live here semi permanently?
