FIRST TRIP 2014

Here we go again, making a start for the 2014 camping season. Our location is near Glastonbury on the Somerset Levels at The Old Oaks Touring Park. Fortunately, most of the recent floods seem to have cleared and the weather looks good!

The site is adults only - sounds a bit naughty, as if there will be wife swapping parties every night but not so, just no kids. We reckon this is the ultimate in luxury camping, with the best toilet block we have ever seen ( it cost £500K 2 years ago ) & a heated shower for dogs!

So onto the photos, the first obviously shows our pitch with Di and Timmy relaxing in the sun.
What do you do with an old tree stump, other than find an artistic wood carver and let him loose with a chain saw until it resembles a head of corn!

The site has a fishing pond which is good for an early (well not very early) dog walk. I spotted an angler just about to land a fish so waited to see what it was. It turned out to be a 10 pound carp, looked pretty big to me! The angler, who I found out was called Frank, didn’t have his camera so I used my phone to capture the monster and subsequently email him the photo.
Finally, it's become a tradition of mine to include a photo of Timmy, this time with his frisbee.
