CATCHING UP!

It's been a while since I blogged due to so much happening- we decided to change the motorhome! Was it planned, well no, as usual a bit of a spur of the moment decision but we realized the Adria was getting a bit 'tired'. It had a few quite serious faults which would need a few thousand pounds to put right. Di had this idea that 7.5M of vehicle was now too big for me to drive but 7M would be ok- woman's logic, I rest my case!

We were on our way to a beach and just happened to be passing a dealer so 'just' called in. Hmm, the salesman made us such a good offer for the Adria without even seeing it that we thought why not. It was a lot of work returning to Devon to empty the Adria and travel back to Chichester to collect the new one. We reckoned to stay nearby overnight to make sure everything was ok and the go home to load the new one.
A gale started that evening so we decided to stay another day having only catered for one day with pot noodles for quickness! Fortunately the fish and chip van called to the site and we feasted on chilli and chips, one of his specials, absolutely delicious!
Back home the real work started trying to fit all our goods and chattels into the new MH which had a lot less cupboards but did have what is called a 'garage' in the rear. In essence just a large space under the bedding area. We bought transparent storage boxes to accommodate most of the loose items and used bungees to secure large items such as folding chairs. A lot of the lockers had shelves in the wrong places for us so they had to be shuffled around, plus some wiring for the towing system has to be added.
It all  seems to have worked ok and we are currently on a superb site in North Yorkshire.

More photos and chat about the places visited will follow in a few days.
