DI'S BIRTHDAY- WE'RE OFF AGAIN

20th Sept 08. During the morning we browsed the streets of Honiton which had an open market. Di bought lots of odds and ends and I got some torx drivers to hopefully mend the pressure washer at home. After lunch we sat outside the MH enjoying the sun.

19th Sept 08. Another superb fine day today-we're in a sable high pressure zone. Today we went to Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, had a walk around both places. Timmy was allowed on the beach at the far end of Lyme, he had 20 mins or so off his lead chasing stones which he was reluctant to drop. I taught him to dig in the sand by burying a stone and asking him to find it!
Photo left showns Lyme bay.

There was a display of rock balancing on the beach- defying the laws of gravity or did he have some invisible way of attaching the rocks? My money is on the latter!
Ok I'm wrong!! I admit it - don't tell anyone, It's real- I did a search on the web and found this

18th Sept 08.
This morning we walked around the site and the inevitable happened, we saw a better pitch on the far side of the site away from the traffic noise and in the sun without overhanging trees. So we did a quick move putting all our bits and pieces on the floor and motoring around to the new pitch which looked level but naturally wasn't. We needed levelling blocks and even then it wasn't perfect but not a problem for just another few days.
In the afternoon we went to Sidmouth on the Jurassic coast, did the shops and had a walk along the promenade and had an ice cream on route. Timmy had a few lumps and absolutely loved it! We arrived in bright sunshine but within a few hours it had misted over, pleasant nevertheless.

17th Sept 08
. We head for Putt's Corner, a Caravan Club site near Sidmouth in East Devon about 60 miles from home but our departure was delayed waiting for the post to be delivered as it was Di's birthday. Having collected the birthday cards we left home about 11am and arrived on site at 1.30pm, an easy journey for me.

The site is just a stopover for 4 days on our way to Brockenhurst in the New Forest near Southampton. It's convenient with a good dog walk but noisy being close to a main road. We managed to get the last but one hard standing available, unfortunately under trees but to our surprise absolutely level! Sod's law as I spend a few hours modifying the levelling blocks for increased height in anticipation!
For the rest of the day we had a walk around he site and got everything sorted inside the MH. Mobile phone reception was good on both O2 and Voda but my mobile broadband was very slow.
