CARLISLE

Today we drove to Carlisle, a large city with SHOPS! I needed just one, the Vodafone shop to find out why I couldn't top up my Internet dongle. I'm still unsure exactly why but they managed to do it.
Di bought odds and ends and we had lunch near the cathedral, a magnificent building built in the local reddish brown sandstone.
Later we decided to try again to see the scenery on route to Alston again as the weather was reasonably clear. We had a few showers on route but did manage to see some peaks this time.
