The weather was absolutely fantastic with constant sunshine and so little wind that we had our packed lunch on Danby Beacon,
probably the highest point for miles.
Our route was chosen by Di taking in many roads marked with arrows on the map indicating steep gradients. We found very many 1 in 4's and a few 1 in 3's on the very narrow minor roads but on the plus side there was very little traffic and fantastic views!
On the way back we passed the Hole of Horcum, a natural depression about a mile across, see http://www.stone-circles.org.uk/stone/holeofhorcum.htm I took some photos and we indulged in an ice cream. Photos coming later..... please come back!
