I chose the route today or more to the point a meandering north then west and south back to the site. Our first stop was at Leyburn for a walk around the town, refreshing old memories from the period when we spent a lot of time in the area with Di's parents. The photo left shows just how dry everything is with rivers without water, just stoney beds. Photo right is Aysgarth Falls, normally a raging torrent!

Our last stop was in Hawes, again for a ramble around the town plus a visit to the Wensleydale Creamery for some cheese, almost straight from the cow!
In summary our route took us to Kettlewell then up some very hilly hair pin bends through Coverdale to Leyburn, Aysgarth on the A684 turning south at Gayle along Langstrothdale back to Kettlewell and home to Threshfield.
